IMO: Keep it to yourself!

I’m all for helping the cause, but no need to make it a fashion statement. I think it’s unnecessary to put your religious belief, political affiliation, and even health concern out for the public to see.  Since the livestrong bracelets came out, things

have gotten out of hand.  How many times have you seen teen’s wearing over 5 color bracelets at once? Before being so quick to throw on your Ernesto Guevara shirt take a minute to consider if you would be so inclined to discuss the cause issues with someone as you are to wear them or put them on your car bumper.  These $1 bracelets should not be a fashion statement, more less, a cop out from giving a substantial donation.

Ideally people would be wearing the bracelets, donating to the cause, and really… TRULY, generating awareness to the issues. IMO that is far from what is the case currently.

Hate of the day

Side Note: Makes me think of the Curb your Enthusiasm episode where Larry’s donation is made public, and he gets minimal respect. Meanwhile Ted Danson’s donation is anonymous, yet everyone knows its his donation, and he is praised by all.
